- Announcement of Korean Language Test(EPS-TOPIK) »
Pursuant to MOU between the Ministry of Employment and Labor of the Republic of Korea and the Ministry of External Affairs of Sri Lanka, the 8th Korean Language Test (hereinafter referred to as EPS-TOPIK) in Sri Lanka, 2010 is conducted as follows. Workers who want to be employed in Korea should pass EPS- TOPIK implemented by HRD Korea. Only passers of EPS- TOPIK can submit their job application for the Employment Permit System (hereinafter referred to as EPS)

Every applicant is required to be show up by 09:30 in a designated test room on time for education for examinee which starts at 09:30
(Expected) Number of passers: 5000 persons (Manufacturing)
Passers are determined as many as the expected number of passers among applicants scoring 80 marks (Full mark 200) by relative evaluation on the basis of test scores.
The Number of passers can be changed afterwards considering manpower demand such as quota per industry and other conditions
Test venue and date will be announced in newspaper on September 13
Person aged between 18 and 39
(Person born between November 1, 1971 and October 31, 1992)
Person without conviction of imprisonment or heavier punishment
Person without record of order of deportation or departure
Person not restricted from departure of the home country

Application form (Free distribution at registration place)
Registration numbers are written on each application form, and one applicant can receive and submit one application form. If there is any error in an application form, correct it with correction tape and submit the application form.
Applicants can take EPS-TOPIK only when they paid the test fee and register an application form.
A copy of passport (or ID card)
A copy of passport (or ID card) is required to be attached on the application form
It is preferable to attach a copy of ID card written in English (especially name) for more convenient job application procedure after passing the test.
2 photographs of 3.5×4.5cm (taken within 6months)
5) Test fee: Rs.1950/-
If an applicant who has the unavoidable reasons cancels his/her registration during registration period, the applicant can get a full refund. (However, re-application
after cancellation is not allowed)

There is no intermission between listening comprehension and reading comprehension
Qualification for registration of job application (Passing standards)
- Passers are determined as many as the expected number of passers among applicants scoring 80 marks (Full mark 200) by relative evaluation on the basis of test scores.
2) Preparation on test day
Passport (or ID card) (Same form of attached one on application form)
Felt-tip pen or Ball-point pen of black color for marking the answer sheet
Applicants who do not bring their passport or ID card on test day, cannot take the test

3) Validity period of test result: two years (November 18, 2010 ~ November 17, 2012)
Score reports (EPS- TOPIK certificate) of passers are to be distributed at SLBFE from November 26, 2010 (8 days after test result announcement)
Applicants are not allowed to bring any equipment which can be used for cheating on a test, such as mobile phones, cassette players, PDA, MP3 players, electric dictionaries etc.
If an applicant cheats or does any fraudulent act in the test, his/her test result is regarded as invalid. Moreover the applicant is restricted from eligible applicants of EPS- TOPIK for next 2 years
If there is any difference between items (especially name and date of birth) written on a passport and ones written on an application form, it may cause rejection of entry.
Passing EPS- TOPIK does not guarantee employment in Korea, it only allows you to register your job application.
Persons restricted from entry to Korea due to failure of passing medical check-up or record of illegal sojourn in Korea cannot selected as eligible job seekers.
Pursuant to MOU between the Ministry of Employment and Labor of Republic of Korea and the Ministry of External Affairs of Sri Lanka, only “SLBFE” has the legal rights regarding sending Sri Lankan workforce to Korea. Only the job seekers who passed EPS- TOPIK and registered on the roster by SLBFE can be hired by Korean employers.
If any other private sectors involve in procedure for sending workforce, there will be the legal punishment for those acts.
