The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) is one of the most important institutions providing a variety of services to a key section of our population - Sri Lankans working overseas, the largest foreign exchange earning sector of our economy.
The services of the SLBFE cover a wide variety of aspects beginning from the point of seeking employment right until the individual settles back home after completing employment. In addition to those directly related to employment, the SLBFE also provides programs for the security and benefit of families of Sri Lankans working overseas particularly for the welfare of their children. In keeping with the vision of H.E. the President and his Mahinda Chinthanaya, the SLBFE has already implemented many programs for the more vulnerable segments of society including women, the differently-abled and retirees.
The SLBFE website provides an insight to the range of services the Bureau provides. It is a useful guide and source of information to Sri Lankans employed overseas, their families as well as to the many other stakeholders in the foreign employment sector. I congratulate the SLBFE for successfully launching and continuously maintaining this website.
I am happy that the SLBFE falls under the purview of our Ministry and I share the same satisfaction expressed by the Hon. G.L. Pieris Minister of External Affairs with regard to the same.
